About Us

One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is a locally owned residential HVAC company serving the Greater Dayton area, backed by the systems, training, resources, and national brand recognition of One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning.

As we launch and grow our operation, we are seeking an experienced HVAC professional to serve as our HVAC license holder/qualifier and technical resource.

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional who either:

Holds an active Ohio HVAC Contractor License in good standing, OR
Holds an eligible HVAC contractor license from a state with Ohio reciprocity and is willing and able to obtain Ohio licensure through the applicable reciprocity process.

This role is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional who wants to remain involved in the industry without a traditional full-time field schedule.

The position will focus primarily on licensing, compliance, technical standards, and technical oversight. Additional compensation may be available for agreed-upon field support, troubleshooting, training, or other services outside standard qualifier responsibilities.

We are open to structuring the role around the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Serve as the company's Ohio HVAC license holder/qualifier once properly licensed and approved.
Maintain required Ohio HVAC licensure in good standing.
Help ensure compliance with applicable licensing, permitting, code, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical oversight and guidance to service technicians and installers.
Serve as a technical escalation resource for complex diagnostics, installations, and code questions.
Help establish standards for residential HVAC service, repair, replacement, and installation.
Assist ownership in evaluating and hiring technically qualified HVAC personnel.
Provide input on equipment, tools, and technical purchasing decisions.
Assist with permitting, inspections, and code-compliance matters when appropriate.
Support technician development, training, and troubleshooting.
Promote quality workmanship, safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.

Required Qualifications

Active Ohio HVAC Contractor License OR an eligible reciprocal-state HVAC contractor license with the ability and willingness to obtain Ohio licensure.
License must be active and in good standing.
Significant residential HVAC experience.
Strong knowledge of HVAC service, diagnostics, repair, replacement, and installation.
Experience with applicable mechanical codes, permitting, and inspections.
Ability to provide technical guidance to technicians and installers.
Strong communication skills and professional dependability.

Preferred Qualifications

EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
Previous HVAC supervisory, training, or management experience.
Experience evaluating or hiring HVAC technicians.
Residential HVAC replacement and installation experience.
Experience helping launch, manage, or grow an HVAC operation.
Familiarity with digital HVAC diagnostic/commissioning tools.
Familiarity with ServiceTitan or similar software.
